  • Jan 12, 2016 I was not able to find drivers on Fluke site, but I could download them using the link provided by Stephen Froese.Only difference I found using Windows 10 I had to open the device manager and find the device driver and the serial port driver and point the computer to the downloaded/extracted files as the 'new hardware found' application did.

By default, the combined operation of the Ports class installer and the Serial function driver configure a serial port as a COM port. Serial creates a COM port device interface for a serial port if the SerialSkipExternalNaming entry value for a device does not exist or is set to zero. For more information about how Serial creates a COM port device interface for a COM port and how to override this operation, see External Naming of COM Ports.

The Ports class installer performs the following tasks when it installs a serial port:

  1. Selects a COM port number and sets a port name in the PortName entry value under the device's hardware key. The port name has the format COM<n>, where <n> is the port number. If Serial creates a COM port interface for the serial port, Serial uses the value of PortName as the symbolic link name for the COM port.

  2. Displays a default property page dialog box, which allows a user to select settings for the port. For information about how to install a custom properties page, see Installing an Advanced Properties Page for a COM Port.

  3. Sets the device friendly name for the device. You obtain the name using the SPDRP_FRIENDLYNAME flag with SetupDiGetDeviceRegistryProperty.

You can supply a co-installer to set registry settings for a Plug and Play serial device. If an entry value is not present in the registry, Serial uses a default value for the port.

If you have checked your connections and still cannot connect your Versiv/TFS main frame to LinkWare PC, please ensure you do not have a VPN session/connection open and that you are running the latest version of LinkWare PC. It is possible that the USBLAN driver has not been installed for the USB Port you are connected to on your PC. If this is the case, we just need to force Windows to install it for you - manually. Do not be intimidated, this is quite a simple process.
Windows 7 users
  • Click on the start icon in the lower left of your screen
  • Select Devices and Printers to see:
  • Right click USBLAN and select troubleshoot, wait to see:
  • Click on Apply this fix
  • Your Versiv/TFS should now be able to talk to LinkWare PC.

Check to make sure that TCP Port 22 (SSH/SCP) is not blocked by your PC's firewall. If it is, make an exception and try the connection again. TCP Port 22 is needed so LinkWare PC can communicate to Versiv over the USB cable.

Windows 8 users

  • Click on the search icon in the upper right and enter Devices and Printers
  • Click on Devices and Printers to give:

Your Versiv/TFS should now be able to talk to LinkWare PC.
Windows 10 Users

Check to make sure that TCP Port 22 (SSH/SCP) is not blocked by your PC's firewall. If it is, make an exception and try the connection again. TCP Port 22 is needed so LinkWare PC can communicate to Versiv over the USB cable.

If all drivers are up to date and you still get an error when trying to connect, check the Network Settings within the USBLAN adapter.

From Control Panel, right-click on the Fluke USBLAN adapter and to to Network settings.

In Network Settings, click Change adapter settings

Right click on the FlukeUSBLAN adapter and go to Properties

In Properties, make sure review which protocols are checked. This will vary depending on what is installed on your PC. At a mnimum the top 3 shown below must be checked. If you have any unchecked boxes, try checking them, click OK, and then restart LinkWare PC and try connecting Versiv again.
